to install compiz in fedora so it works first install all of your repos. Then run the following command
yum --exclude=compizconfig-backend-kconfig --exclude=compiz-kde --exclude=compiz-manager install *compiz* ccsm emerald emerald-themes
now you can go to your preferences enable the desktop effects and then open the compiz config.
